The iconic skyscraper in Dubai lit up with ornate designs to pay tribute to the grand festival of Diwali, celebrated by millions globally.
The Hindu festival of Diwali was celebrated with great pomp and fervour by millions across the world. On this festive occasion, the iconic Burj Khalifa in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) also lit up on Thursday in a grand tribute to the ‘Festival of Lights’.
The world’s tallest building was adorned with ornate designs with the message, “Celebrating the festival of lights. Wishing you joy, health and prosperity. Happy Diwali!” in both English and Hindi.
“The world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa, lit up to celebrate the Festival Of Lights, wishing everyone joy, health, and prosperity on the occasion of Diwali,” wrote the Indian Consulate in Dubai on its official X handle.
The video was also posted by Emaar Dubai, the real estate company behind the construction of the world-famous skyscraper, on its Instagram account with the caption, “Celebrating the Festival of Lights at the #BurjKhalifa! May this Diwali bring joy, prosperity, and peace to all.”

Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is a vibrant celebration that marks the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. It is celebrated by millions of Indian diaspora members across the world and has gained a universal appeal. This year, the holiday is being celebrated on October 31 and November 1.
New York’s Grand Gesture On Diwali
Recently, the Consulate General of India in New York shared a stunning video of the iconic One World Trade Center illuminated in honour of the festival. The building sparkled with bright colours and showcased traditional diyas, creating a beautiful spectacle.
Additionally, New York City officially designated Diwali as a public school holiday, making the celebration even more special for the community in the city. These gestures instilled a sense of pride among many Indians living in the US.
US President Joe Biden hosted a Diwali celebration at the White House on October 28, which was also his final celebration before the presidential election on November 5.
