Apple’s new AirPods Pro 2 features a hearing aid feature that also offers a clinical-grade Hearing Aid feature.
Elon Musk reacted to Apple’s new holiday-themed advertisement called ‘Heartstrings’, which showed the new Airpods Pro 2’s hearing aid feature. The ad was shared by Apple CEO Tim Cook on the X platform, who praised the teams behind the product.
“I’m so proud of the many teams across Apple developing powerful technologies that are improving people’s lives. The Hearing Aid feature on AirPods Pro 2 uses your personalised sound profile so you can hear the moments that matter,” Cook said on X.
The nearly two-minute ad showed a father who is experiencing hearing loss and is unable to listen to his daughter’s voice as she is growing up. Encouraged by his wife, he puts on the Airpods Pro 2 and listens clearly to his daughter singing a song while playing her guitar, which she received as a Christmas present. As the song ends, the father is seen visibly emotional.
The Apple ad received praise on social media for moving away from its usual ‘woke’ advertising, with Musk saying, “This is cool.” Another user said, “Apple releasing a hearing aid version of their headphones is amazing. It will bring down the costs of a quality programmable hearing aid tremendously.”
“Society went from “men can get pregnant” to “let’s celebrate fatherhood” in just 3 weeks,” quipped another individual. Many social media users lauded the family narrative, with one saying, “Tim, I am genuinely happy to see an Apple ad based on family. Family is everything.”

Apple rolled out the new product with a hearing aid feature, saying, “People with hearing loss wait an average of 10 years before getting their hearing tested and fitted for hearing aids. Leaving millions unaware they’re living with hearing loss and without the assistance they need.”
“Now with the world’s first end-to-end hearing health experience, you have access to a Hearing Test that provides scientifically validated results within minutes and the ability to activate a clinical-grade Hearing Aid feature on your AirPods Pro 2 — right from home,” it further said on its YouTube description.
If hearing loss is detected in an individual, the AirPods Pro 2 automatically adjust to function as a personalised hearing aids, enhancing sounds like speech or environmental noise. The Airpods Pro 2 also feature adaptive audio, noise cancellation features and loud sound reduction. It has been launched at a price of Rs 24,900.
