Real Valladolid fans voiced their discontent over club owner Ronaldo ahead of the last La Liga games against Atletico Madrid on Sunday, December 1. Ronaldo who won two World Cup titles with Brazil took over the Spanish club in 2018. He had acquired 51 per cent ownership of Real Valladolid with an investment of £27 million. Since then, the team has suffered two relegations while also gaining promotions back to La Liga in two seasons. Their performance has been quite concerning in the ongoing campaign.
After 15 matches, Real Valladolid now find themselves at the bottom of the league table with nine points. Manager Paulo Pezzolano was sacked after the last La Liga game against Atletico Madrid where they conceded as many as five goals but failed to score any.

Ronaldo had thought of selling his stake in Real Valladolid earlier this summer but later changed his mind, as reported by the Mirror. When the club broke the news, it was claimed that the legendary striker would invest more money to increase their overall salary cap. He wanted to build a concrete squad that would serve the club for a long period.
Real Valladolid completed a number of signings during the last transfer window. Raul Moro was handed a permanent contract following the end of his loan spell. The Spanish forward struck the winner in the opening La Liga fixture of the season against Espanyol. Since then, Valladolid have managed to claim just one more victory and three draws.
Ronaldo had earlier served as the owner of the Brazilian side Cruzeiro who secured a promotion to the top tier in 2022, along with Valladolid. Ronaldo, however, sold his stake in the Belo Horizonte-based club in the same year.
Real Valladolid still have enough time to clear themselves from the relegation threat. In their next La Liga appearance, Ronaldo’s team will face a high-flying Las Palmas who defeated Barcelona in the previous outing. The match between Real Valladolid and Las Palmas is scheduled for December 7.
