In La Liga, Real Madrid currently find themselves placed in the second spot. In the Champions League, they occupy 24th spot. There have been plenty of discussions surrounding Real Madrid’s form and it is now being learnt that questions have been raised about manager Carlo Ancelotti’s future at the club.
Ancelotti appears to be upset with many doubting him at Real Madrid. Journalist Antonio Romero recently confirmed this on the SER program, ‘Carrusel Deportivo,’ according to Sport. Romero, reportedly, claimed that Ancelotti is unable to figure out why his work has been questioned at Real Madrid.
Having endured a dismal outing at Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday, Real Madrid scripted a prompt comeback against Getafe in La Liga. Mbappe found the back of the net to guide Real Madrid to a 2-0 win over Getafe. Mbappe scored just before half-time to extend Real Madrid’s lead to two goals.
With this, Mbappe emerged as Real Madrid’s joint-highest goal scorer (8), along with Vinicius Junior, in this season’s La Liga. The strike against Getafe also marked the Frenchman’s 10th goal of the season across all competitions for Real Madrid. Jude Bellingham scored the other goal for Real Madrid.
Ancelotti was glad with Mbappe’s performance in the fixture against Getafe. “He was active, dangerous and scored a great goal which was important to control the rest of the game. He was active and that’s what we want from him. The fans understand better than anyone the moment of the team and the players. They supported Mbappe after Anfield because it was the right thing to do,” Ancelotti told reporters, as per Reuters.
Following the win against Getafe, Real Madrid climbed to the second spot in the La Liga standings. They are just a point behind Barcelona, who have played one game more than Real Madrid. In their next match, Real Madrid will be up against Athletic Club in La Liga on Thursday, December 5.
