Indian Super League side East Bengal FC posted a huge win over Bashundhra Kings from Bangladesh on Tuesday at the Changlimithang Stadium in Thimpu.
EBFC struck four first-half goals to register an emphatic triumph over Bashundhra as Dimitrios Diamantakos, Souvik Chakrabarti, Anwar Ali and Nandha Kumar Sekar found the back of the net in a statement win.
Diamantakos opened the scoring for the Kolkata unit in the very first minute of the game to give his side a flying start to the game.
Chakrabarti added the Torchbearers’ second of the game in the 20th minute to give his side a two-goal lead.

Oscar Bruzon’s men did not have to wait long before their third of the game as Nandha Kumar put daylight between the teams in the 26th minute of the game.
Ali added insult to injury in the 33rd minute as the defender got a goal for himself to round out a complete first-half performance.
Bruzon opted to bench crucial players for the second period with the lead in mind and went on to see the game out with a clean sheet to boot.

The win opens up Group B in the AFC Challenge League 2024-25 as the group leader would be decided on the last matchday.
EBFC posted a 2-2 draw in their previous fixture of the tournament against Paro FC.
Following their huge win over the Bangladeshi unit, EBFC stands the chance to top the group with a win in their third and final group game against Nejmeh SC of Lebanon.
