Alia Bhatt and SS Rajamouli have previously worked in RRR.
Alia Bhatt revealed how an advice that she had received from SS Rajamouli helped her say yes to Jigra. The actor will be seen in an action role in the Vasan Bala directorial.
Alia Bhatt is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming movie, Jigra, where she will share the screen with Vedang Raina. In a recent interview, the actor revealed how a piece of advice that she received from SS Rajamouli influenced her choice to say yes to this role.
In a conversation with Tried & Refused Productions, Alia Bhatt recounted advice that she had once received from SS Rajamouli. The actor said, “Rajamouli sir said this to me once: that action is maybe the pillars and the walls, but if the foundation of the building is not strong and that foundation is your emotion, the building will just collapse.”
Bhatt said that this advice helped her to say yes to Jigra. She said that she could connect to the character because of the character’s certain traits. She continued, “What connected with me was its viguor and its emotion. And it’s not like I was in this film; I’ll do action and I’ll show people. It’s cool ya to see a woman fight and really fight, and you do not really have to think that this is a woman fighting. It’s just a human being fighting for whatever x, y, z reason.”
Bhatt and Rajamouli have worked earlier on RRR. As the trailer of the film was released earlier this week, the director shared the trailer on his social media and praised her. He wrote, “Alia never ceases to amaze us with her top-notch performances. Here she comes again with #Jigra. It looks like an intense and emotional ride!”
Jigra is set to release in theatres on October 11. Directed by Vasan Bala, the movie stars Bhatt and Raina in lead roles. It revolves around a sister who is determined to protect her brother. The film will clash with Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri’s Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video.
