Ankita Dhyani Profile Athletics Paris Olympics 2024 Women’s 5000m
Ankita Dhyani will represent India in the women’s 5000m event at the Summer Olympics. The Uttarakhand-born used to run with boys, training for Army selections at a high altitude of 1400m. The 22-year-old, who is a middle and long-distance runner, represented India’s athletics contingent in the 5000m event at the 2022 Asian Games. She had qualified for the Asian Athletics Championship in May last year.
Ankita Dhyani enjoys a personal best performance of 15:28.08 which she had achieved at the Track Fest in California this year. She also won a bronze medal in the competition.

Paris Olympics Qualification
Ankita Dhyani qualified for the Paris Olympics 2024 through the world ranking quota. She was on the 42nd spot in the last ranking prepared by the World Athletics (WA) on July 2. Ankita was initially outside the qualification bracket but managed to make the cut following multiple withdrawals.
In a similar instance, India’s Jeswin Aldrin managed to qualify for the Olympics 2024 through the world ranking quota after initially failing to do so.
Recent Performances
Ankita Dhyani, in her latest competition, clocked 16:10.31 in the women’s 5000m final of the National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships, held in Panchkula, Haryana last month. With this stunning performance, Ankita managed to secure a gold medal.
