Anupamaa, starring Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna, has been the talk of the town recently. Sudhanshu Pandey, who has played the role of Vanraj Shah since the show’s inception, is set to exit the series. His departure has left fans in disbelief, as his role has been a cornerstone of the show’s success. The actor went live on Instagram to share the news with his fans, thanking everyone for the love and support he received during his time on the show. Sudhanshu’s departure has raised questions about the future of Vanraj Shah.
In the latest update, it seems that producer Rajan Shahi is considering actor Pankit Thakker to take over the role of Vanraj. According to a report by Times Now, actor Pankit Thakker is being considered to step into Sudhanshu’s shoes. The report further revealed that Pankit recently underwent a look test for the role of Vanraj Shah on August 29. The makers of Anupamaa were reportedly impressed with his performance and discussions are ongoing about bringing him on board. If finalised, Pankit’s entry into the show would mark a new chapter for the character of Vanraj.
During an interview with Bombay Times, Sudhanshu spoke about his sudden exit from the show after 4 years. He shared, “I felt it was time to move on. There can be many reasons, but dwelling on them feels like taking a step back. All I want to say is that my journey in the show as Vanraj Shah has been rewarding. I have received so much love and an equal measure of hate from the audience, and the latter makes me believe I did justice to the character.”
Sudhanshu Pandey’s portrayal of Vanraj Shah has been crucial to Anupamaa. While fans have had a love-hate relationship with the character, Sudhanshu’s performance made Vanraj truly unforgettable. With rumours of Pankit possibly stepping into the role, the big question on everyone’s mind is whether Pankit can bring his unique touch to Vanraj.
Pankit started his television journey in 2001 with Ekta Kapoor’s popular serial Kabhii Sautan Kabhii Sahelii. Since then, he has appeared in several shows like Bahu Humari Rajinikant, Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha, Dill Mill Gayye and Barsatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka.
