Heart problems encompass a range of conditions affecting the heart, including coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, and heart failure. Nowadays, a huge percentage of people from all ages, especially adults, suffer from heart attacks. When the blood flow towards the heart lessens or gets blocked for a prolonged period, that’s when we call it a heart attack. This blockage is typically caused by a blood clot that forms in a coronary artery due to the buildup of fatty deposits. When the heart muscle does not receive enough oxygen-rich blood, it can start to die, leading to damage or death of the heart tissue. Three crores of people in the country suffer from heart diseases. In a few years, India will be at the forefront in the world in cases of heart disease. Around 27% of the deaths are due to heart disease.
According to reports, Dr HK Bali, former faculty of the Department of Cardiology at PGIMER Chandigarh, said in an interview that our country has the highest number of heart attack cases in young people around 35 years of age in the whole world. He said in the next few years, we will be at the forefront in terms of deaths due to cardiovascular disease and disability caused by it. Dr Bali said that due to this heart problem, the average life expectancy of people has started lessening. Even young people of 25 years of age seek medication in order to cure heart disease.
The doctor also added that the main reason for these heart related problems is mainly because of wrong lifestyle and eating habits. About 30 percent of the population in cities and 15 percent of the population in villages have high blood pressure or have had a heart attack. Although as the problem of heart failure increases, the mortality rate is also increasing.
People who have diabetes are two to three times more likely to suffer from heart problems than normal people. This is a matter of great concern because currently 10 crore people in India are diabetic. By 2035, 13.5 crore people in India will suffer from diabetes. After diabetes, high blood pressure is the biggest reason for heart attack. Obesity, drugs, alcohol, use of steroids for gym can also be the cause of heart attack.
The biggest reason for heart attack is consuming junk foods like pizza and burger. Even processed food, red meat, junk food, packaged food and many more causes inflammation in the body which ultimately affects the heart. Instead of consuming packaged food, it is advised to eat green leafy vegetables and fruits along with continuing regular brisk exercise.
