Bella Hadid made a triumphant comeback to the Paris runway for the Saint Laurent fashion show.
The 27-year-old, dressed in a mannish black suit and tie by label Anthony Vaccarello, dazzled on the first day of Paris Fashion Week in a burnished bronze catwalk.
Bella Hadid made her last appearance at Paris Fashion Week for the spring/summer 2023 collections back in October 2022. Her look in a bralette featuring thin straps teamed with a matching-hued straight skirt, boot-styled flat shoes, a wet hairstyle, and makeup was everything needed to spread the magic on a runway. Following this, she took a hiatus to focus on her health. During this time, she did not shy from opening up about her long battle with Lyme disease and maintained a distance from the runways.
Finally, Hadid returned to the runway in Paris at the Saint Laurent show. Fashionmongers say, what’s better than Saint Laurent to make such a Boss lady comeback? On the first day of Paris Fashion Week, the 27-year-old showed off her old stunning self in the creative director of the label, Anthony Vaccarello’s burnished bronze runway in a mannish black suit and tie. The black suit perfectly flaunted her broadened shoulders and curves. She layered it with a white shirt and gave the perfect fashion inspiration for formal meetings.
Hadid completed her look with a neatly combed, back-brushed ponytail and makeup that blended into her skin. Her “no-makeup” makeup look included a highlighted T-zone, tinted cheeks, nude glossy lips and shimmery eyes with a thin touchup of mascara. Black pointed shoes and thick-framed specs added an oomph factor to Hadid’s overall look.
The majestic collection featuring a form of fluid suits and layered overcoats reflects Yves Saint Laurent’s persona, in which artful sophistication coexisted with instinctual desire, as per Vogue. Indeed, each look of Saint Laurent’s spring/summer 2024 ready-to-wear collection at Paris Fashion Week radiated a sense of feminine empowerment, old-school elegance and modern sophistication. Yves Saint Laurent himself once declared, “Chanel freed women, and I empowered them” – a sentiment that certainly resonated throughout Vaccarello’s collection, which was rooted in the founder’s style.
The model, who was a regular at Vivienne Westwood, Victoria Beckham, and Versace, announced that she was “finally healthy” in August 2023 after a prolonged battle with Lyme disease. In a carousel post showing how she remained strong through the suffering, she wrote a long, meaningful note about it. “The little me that suffered would be so proud of grown me for not giving up on myself,” she penned,
She added, “One thing I want to express to you all is that 1: I am okay, and you do not have to worry, and 2: I wouldn’t change anything for the world. If I had to go through all of this again to get here, to this exact moment I’m in right now, with all of you, finally healthy, I would do it all again. It made me who I am today. The universe works in the most painful and beautiful ways, but I need to say that if you are struggling- it will get better. I promise.”
“I tried to pick the most positive pictures I could because as painful as this experience was, the outcome was the most enlightening experience of my life, filled with new friends, new visions and a new brain. I’ll be back when I’m ready. I miss you all so much. I love you all so much,” she concluded.
