Bigg Boss 17 fame Samarth Jurel has taken on a powerful role for his upcoming project. The actor will soon be seen portraying Yuvraj Budh in a mythological show, Budh Dev. The Hari OM OTT’s upcoming series marks Samarth’s first venture after his successful stint in Bigg Boss last year. Ahead of the show’s premiere, the actor recently spoke to a publication wherein he divulged details about his character and the challenges that he faced while portraying the same.
Speaking with ETimes, Samarth said, “My character’s name is Yuvraj Buddha, which is also the title of the show. I had never heard of such a character before. We’re all familiar with mythologies like Ramayan and Mahabharat, and we know about Gautam Buddha, but Yuvraj Buddha is a completely different god.”
The 20-25 episode series came with several challenges for the actor, with the primary one being the details about speaking Sanskrit. Reflecting on the same, the actor added, “Sanskrit is very difficult. I’m still stuck with the lines.” Even for his costume, it takes nearly 20 minutes to prepare which makes it uncomfortable for the actor, as he said during the interaction. “It feels itchy, and the hardest part is staying calm. I’m very restless by nature, so staying still has been tough,” continued Samarth.
Earlier this week, Samarth Jurel also posted a few pictures on Instagram, teasing fans with a glimpse of his look in the upcoming show. Dressed in his costume for the role he is set to play, the actor flaunted his long hair in the selfie included in the post. Attached next is a close-up look as he sports a saffron tika on his forehead. In the final image, he added a picture of the clapboard depicting the show’s name. Along with the pictures, he wrote, “Yuvraj budh. Coming soon.”
Apart from the mythological series, Samarth Jurel is also busy shooting for his first Bollywood project. Reports surfaced suggesting that the actor was hospitalised after suffering an injury as he decided to perform a high-intensity action scene himself instead of using a body double. Despite being injured, he showed professionalism and finished the shoot. Meanwhile, sources close to the production revealed that he decided to perform the demanding stunts himself to maintain the authenticity of the historical character he was playing.
