Bigg Boss 18 has garnered significant limelight ever since it premiered last month. From ugly spats between the contestants to their personal revelations, the controversial reality show often makes headlines. In the latest promo, Karan Veer Mehra opened up about his failed marriage with wildcard entrant Kashish Kapoor. During the conversation, the actor opened up about the reason for his separation. As admitted by him, Karan Veer got married twice before entering the show and is currently single.
JioCinema posted a clip from the upcoming episode on its Instagram page where Karan and Kashish discussed the actor’s personal life. In the video, the Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 winner shared that he was single and said, “Single boy. Enjoying life. Having fun.” This prompted Kashish to ask him if he was ever “committed or married.” Karan admitted that he was married twice, and when the wildcard contestant further questioned his current status, he clarified that he was divorced. After Karan’s revelations, Kashish said, “Can I ask why?”
Karan Veer talked about his first marriage and shared, “Pehle mein aisa hua ki hum insaan hi do alag ban gaye jo pyaar mein pade the wo nahi the.“ (In my first marriage, we both became different people and were not the same people who fell in love.) Reportedly, the Rishton Ka Mela actor was married to Devika Mehra for nearly 9 years before they parted ways in 2018.
Reflecting on his second marriage with Nidhi Seth, Karan said that it was a ‘hasty decision’. He further explained, “Ye bhi tha ki lockdown ab pata nahi ki teesra lockdown ya choutha lockdown kab tak hoga aur insaan zinda rahenge bhi ya nahi. Toh wo ek darr ke chakkar mein bhi.” (We had no clue when the 3rd or 4th lockdown would take place or whether our loved ones would be alive or not. So, it happened in a moment of fear.)
Revealing that it was both of their second marriage, the KKK 14 winner said, “Humein laga ki chalo ye work kar jayegi ab, toh uss jaldi ke andar kar liya phir.” (We thought it would work. Hence, we decided to get married quickly.)
The actor further explained the reason behind their divorce, saying, “Fir choti choti baaton pe shuru hota hai then it goes on and on. And then choti si hoti hai male ego fir woh hurt ho jaati hai. Fir tum bol dete ho.” (Then we started fighting over small things, and it continues. Plus, there is the fragile male ego, and when you get hurt, you end up saying things.) Karan Veer Mehra married Nidhi Seth in 2021, and the former couple parted ways in 2023.
