Manchester United midfielder Casemiro did not have an impressive game against Liverpool in the Premier League this weekend. The Brazilian was substituted in the 46th minute and Manchester United conceded a defeat by three goals to nil in front of the home crowd at Old Trafford.
Casemiro was responsible for losing possession on multiple occasions, and even committed some costly mistakes and his poor play resulted in the visitors taking a 2-0 lead. Afterwards, the 32-year-old was slammed by fans with many urging the team management to terminate his contract with Manchester United.
Amid this, Casemiro’s wife Anna Mariana Casemiro has come out in defence of the Brazilian international. Sharing a picture on Instagram, Anna showcased the number of trophies Casemiro had so far won in his professional career. Casemiro’s illustrious trophy cabinet comprised some of the much-coveted silverware, including five Champions League titles.
Reacting to Casemiro’s gameplay against Liverpool, former Manchester United defender Gary Neville expressed his disappointment.
“Casemiro with a player of such experience the amount of times he gives the ball away in bad areas. He has no pressure on him and it’s a first time pass he tries. Liverpool have made mistakes in these areas, but Mo Salah is class and the cross is delicious,” Neville said while commentating on Sky Sports.
