UFC Star Conor McGregor revealed that he has bet 60,000 USD that Cristiano Ronaldo would be the top-scorer of Euro 2024.
Star UFC fighter Conor McGregor has placed a sensational Euro 2024 bet on Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese legend is currently competing in Euro 2024 in Germany and was part of his side in the opening contest against the Czech Republic. Portugal did kick off their European Championship campaign with a 2-1 win but Ronaldo’s performance may have very well given McGregor some serious headache, especially after placing a massive bet on the Al-Nassr legend.
The Irishmen shared his betting slip predicting Ronaldo to clinch the Golden Boot award this time, having put 60,000 on the Portuguese goalscorer, with £761,310 winnings at stake. It is not known whether the ‘Notorious’ made the bet using British Pound Sterling, Euros or American Dollars.
“60 G’s on Cristiano to retain his Euro Golden Boot. Siuuu,” read the post shared by Conor McGregor on Instagram. McGregor even shared a picture of him sitting next to Cristiano Ronaldo.
The post did garner the attention of fans but many social media users have now started making fun of Conor McGregor after Cristiano Ronaldo failed to find the back of the net in the Euro 2024 game against the Czech Republic. While many felt that Ronaldo would not be able to excel in the competition, others took a dig at McGregor for placing an astonishing bet on the former Real Madrid and Manchester United footballer.

“Bro just burned 60k,” read one comment.
Echoing a similar sentiment, another person wrote, “There goes 60gs.”
One social media user cheekily wrote, “U can say goodbye to that 60g’s.”
“That’s not going to happen,” read another reply.
“You just lose your money for no reason,” one person commented.
Another Instagram user wrote, “Should’ve given me some money if you’re just going to throw it all away mate.”
Cristiano Ronaldo and Conor McGregor had a warm interaction in October last year ahead of Tyson Fury’s points win over Francis Ngannou. Ronaldo was the top scorer at Euro 2020 having scored five goals. Meanwhile, McGregor recently withdrew from his scheduled welterweight fight against Michael Chandler because of an injury. McGregor was expected to make a return after a hiatus having broken his leg in defeat to Dustin Poirier back in July 2021.
