Part 1 of Season 4 of Emily In Paris left viewers on the edge of their seats and now the anticipation is building as the next part is set to stream on Netflix starting September 2. In the first part, Emily, played by Lily Collins, finds herself tangled in a love triangle, faced with a tough choice between two suitors vying for her affection. While the romance and drama keep the story buzzing, it is the show’s fabulous wardrobe that really steals the spotlight. Set in the fashion capital of the world, each episode is like a runway show, with Emily and her crew flaunting the most stunning outfits that make us want to raid their closets.
Recently, Netflix gave a sneak peek into the next part of season 4 which is set in Rome. The streaming giant unveiled a poster featuring Lily in a jaw-dropping red gown that brings the vintage fashion back into headlines. How so? Let’s find out.
In the latest poster of Emily In Paris, Emily takes centre stage in a breathtaking gown designed by legendary Italian fashion designer Roberto Cappucci, who once dressed Marilyn Monroe and Gloria Swanson in the ’50s. This stunning piece, known as ‘Nine Skirts,’ dates back to 1956 and was so iconic that it even featured in the Cadillac ad. The gown features nine dramatic, upturned layers that create a show-stopping lifted front hem and a mesmerizing trail reminiscent of flower petals. With its asymmetric hem, fitted bodice, and sleek midi skirt, it was a hit at its time. It had been crafted from luxurious silk taffeta with structural elements. Emily, however, gives it a modern twist by pairing the vintage glamour with a pair of fitted capri pants instead of a midi skirt.
Emily completed her show-stopping look with some fabulous accessories like small dangling earrings, chic maroon ballet heels, and bright red elbow-high gloves. Her hair was styled to perfection with a sleek and polished hairdo that perfectly complemented her modern take on the vintage classic gown.
