A source told news agency AFP that an agreement was reached between Hamas and PIJ after which mediators were informed of the prisoner-hostage exchange deal and ceasefire.
Palestinian militant groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad have approved a deal for a ceasefire in Gaza and an exchange of Palestinian prisoners for Israeli hostages, two Palestinian sources close to negotiations in Doha said Wednesday.
“The resistance factions reached an agreement among themselves and informed the mediators of their approval of the (prisoner-hostage) exchange deal and ceasefire,” one source told AFP on condition of anonymity.
“The factions discussed the agreement positively and expressed their approval and satisfaction, aiming to halt the (Israeli) aggression and protect our people,” another Palestinian source said.
