“It was very surprising. Only I am retained, along with Bhavika Sharma,” Ankita Khare said.
The popular TV serial Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyar Meiin has been an audience favourite for many years now. Its compelling plot and unexpected twists have kept viewers hooked. Now, the makers have decided to take a significant leap in the show in order to make the storyline better and this has also led to a change in the cast. Presently, it stars Bhavika Sharma and Shakti Arora as Savi and Ishaan respectively. Shakti will reportedly not be retained post-leap along with many crucial characters, while Bhavika will continue to portray Savi. Ankita Khare, who plays the role of Harini, Savi’s sister, will be part of the show post-leap.
In conversation with Pinkvilla, Ankita Khare shared that she will continue in the show while most of the other characters are leaving. The actress said, “It was very surprising. Only I am retained, along with Bhavika Sharma. I definitely feel lucky that I’ll remain a part of the show post-leap. I am nervous and excited as well. I don’t know about actors who’re joining us post-leap, but I’m sure it is going to be extremely exciting and thrilling.”
Sharing her thoughts on the makers plan to change the storyline, the actress mentioned that it was “unexpected and sudden.” She added that it was shocking to everyone on the set, and all the actors had a difficult time accepting the major change. She said that the mood on the sets is emotional, but they are having a good time together, shooting the remaining few episodes together.
Speaking about working with Bhavika Sharma, Ankita mentioned, “With Bhavika, it has always been a lot of fun. Our bond offscreen is quite similar to that of Savi and Harini onscreen. She is like a buddy.” On the other hand, with Shakti Arora, she did not get many scenes to work on, but she thinks he is quite professional.
Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin was initially led by Neil Bhatt, Aishwarya Sharma and Ayesha Singh. However, in 2023, the show made a generational leap and featured a new cast including Ayush Anand, Shakti Arora, Bhavika Sharma, Vaishali Thakkar, Nimai Bali, Sumit Singh, and Astha Agarwal. Reportedly, after the next leap, Hitesh Bharadwaj and Kaveri Priyam will co-star with Bhavika Sharma in the show.
