Frenchman Dembele revealed in a recent podcast that he would like to hang up his boots by the time he is 34 years of age and get into the real-estate business.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star Ousmane Dembele has already planned his retirement as the France international revealed the age he wants to hang up his football shoes. He also talked about what he wanted to pursue after retiring from the sport.
Dembele was recently featured on the ESN Media – The Bridge YouTube channel as he engaged in a chat with Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni and Barcelona’s Jules Kounde during the episode.
“I want to retire at 34. And then I want to get into the property business. Invest in Africa, in France,” he said in the interview, as per GOAL.
Dembele joined PSG from Barcelona in the summer transfer window last year. He struggled on an individual level in his debut season, recording six goals and 14 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions. But his contributions were enough to help the French giants secure three trophies, including the Ligue 1 title. He has been in top form for PSG in the ongoing 2024/25 season, scoring five times and providing seven assists in 13 appearances.
PSG coach Luis Enrique revealed why Dembele was left out of the squad for their UEFA Champions League game against Arsenal in a press conference. “If someone doesn’t comply or respect the expectations of the team, it means they are not prepared to play. The match is very important and I want all my players to be ready, so as a consequence, I have left him [Dembele] out. I want the best for my team and that is my job,” he said, as per multiple outlets.
“I am here to create a team and in the future that might include Ousmane Dembele, just to be clear,” Enrique added.
Dembele’s absence ultimately did not play out in PSG’s favour as the French side lost 0-2 to the Londoners. The match was played at the Emirates Stadium on October 2.
As for Dembele, the PSG forward recently suffered from a fitness setback. He had to pull out of the France squad ahead of their Nation League matches in November as he reportedly suffered a last-minute hamstring injury.
Dembele has now successfully recovered from his fitness trouble and is expected to return to club action on November 23 when Enrique’s men take on Toulouse in Ligue 1 at the Parc des Princes.
