Apple’s iPhone 17 launch will once again show us premium features reserved for the Pro models.
Apple launched the new iPhone 16 series in September and since then it has also unveiled the M4-powered Macs. Now, the company has its focus shifted to the 2025 lineup which obviously includes the iPhone 17 series. The interest around the iPhone 17 series is already picking up so the news and rumours have started to appeal to their interest.
The brand has a new set of features that will be limited to the premium iPhone 17 Pro models and it is once again related to the cameras.
More Camera Powers For The Pro
The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max models will be getting the 5x periscope telephoto lens as per reports this week. The details via DigiTimes also says that the lens will offer 5x optical zoom on these models. Apple will be relying on its supplier LG Innotek for the parts and the company has already started the process to set up the manufacturing base for these lenses, adds the report.
Apple going Pro-exclusive with features, especially cameras, is nothing new. Even this year the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max variants got the 5x tetraprism zoom lens and the next logical upgrade is going to be a periscope lens.
The new updates are intriguing and contradicts other reports which claimed that Apple will bring the technology to the iPhone 17 and the rumoured 17 Slim models as well.
The company is tipped to bring the Face ID tech into an under-display camera with these iPhones in 2025. We can also expect the A19 Pro chipset to power the Pro models, while the A18 Pro serves the needs of the regular iPhone 17 variants.
We’re also keen to see if the Plus moniker is replaced with Slim by Apple or the company could have five models in its portfolio for next year. We’re still quite a long way from these iPhones coming into the mainstream news, but for now, all eyes are waiting to see or even hear about the exciting iPhone SE 4 launch early next year.
