Apple is planning for a big 2025 with multiple products lined up for launch but none as big as the iPhone SE 4 model.
Apple’s 2024 launches are done and the focus now quickly shifts to the company’s lineup for the next year which is shaping up to be an exciting prospect. The Apple Intelligence push will most likely go another level with more features offered and more regions able to use it locally. But it goes without saying that the rumours and the leaks about the iPhone SE 4 model has got the biggest traction these days, especially with the promise of Apple AI available at a modest budget compared to the premium iPhones.
We have previously written about the big iPhone SE 4 design changes, the end of the home button for Apple (at least on the iPhones), and other much-needed upgrades for the SE moniker. With this piece, we try to understand the excitement building around the iPhone SE 4 launch in 2025 and why markets like India could become Apple’s main focus with products like these.
iPhone SE 4 2025 Launch: Why The Hype?
The iPhone SE 4 or the 2025 models could feature a modern design with a wide notch and possibly support Face ID. Leaks suggest Apple could opt for an iPhone 14-like design language, which means the end of the home button for Touch ID, and you are left with facial biometrics as the only security feature.
The iPhone SE 4 model will also support AI features from Apple, which suggests the new model could be powered by the A17 Pro or the A18 chipset. It remains to be seen if the high-end AI features will come to the device but people will surely find the rumoured iPhone SE 4 model appealing. Add to that, the iPhone SE 4 could come with 6GB RAM and also support USB C for charging which is now a given for all Apple devices in the market.
The model is tipped to sport a 6.1-inch Super XDR display made by LG Display unit. Apple is reportedly shifting its focus from LCDs to OLEDs for all its products in 2025, so the possibility of the iPhone SE 4 featuring the panel cannot be denied.
Most leaks hint at a single camera unit on the iPhone SE 2024 but even then upgrading that to a 48MP sensor will surely give it a big lift from the existing 8MP sensor which is now dated and doesn’t match up to the existing standards.
And finally, it is hard to deny that if Apple does bring these level of upgrades to the iPhone SE 4 model, the launch price is bound to see a steep hike. The iPhone SE 2022 model comes for around Rs 48,000 in the Indian market, so we are hoping the iPhone SE 4 launch price is anywhere around Rs 55,000 so that the regular iPhones get a chance to be in the reckoning. The new iPhone SE model could be announced sometime in March next year, which is usually Apple’s timeline for its earlier SE launches.
