Isha Ambani’s Couture Lehenga Inspired by JG Ballard’s The Garden Of Time

Isha Ambani’s looks for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding festivities were impeccable, with the businesswoman saving her best for last. Collaborating with her stylist Anaita Shroff Adjania and designer Sabyasachi, Isha chose a unique, custom-made Sabyasachi couture lehenga.
Stylist Anaita Shroff Adjania chose an ivory Sabyasachi lehenga as Isha Ambani’s pièce de résistance for the grand Ambani reception. This exceptional lehenga draws inspiration from JG Ballard’s The Garden Of Time, which also inspired this year’s Met Gala theme. In an exclusive with Diet Sabya, Anaita stated, “Isha at her radiant best, we created this first-of-its-kind couture ensemble, paying homage to Indian craft with the maestro Sabya.”
The lehenga ensemble features a cropped blouse adorned with intricate floral embroidery crafted from threadwork, sequins, and precious pearls. Design elements include a plunging neckline, full-length sleeves, and a cropped hem. Isha paired this blouse with a striking lehenga skirt, the centerpiece of her look.
The A-line lehenga boasts a high-rise waist, maximum flare, and a floor-length hem. The show-stealing feature is the hand-embroidered roses, Resham embroidery, leaf-shaped adornments, and beads arranged to resemble fruits, creating the illusion of a lush garden. To complete the look, Isha draped a delicate georgette dupatta with tassel embellishments over her arms.
Accessorizing her exquisite couture ensemble, Isha wore diamond and pearl jewelry, including a layered luxurious necklace, a mang tika, statement kadhas, and massive diamond rings. For her makeup, she opted for darkened brows, smoky kohl-lined eyes, caramel lips, blush on the cheeks, highlighter for contour, mascara-coated lashes, and loose, center-parted tresses.
