Sources say Bangladesh is becoming a hub for all terror groups including Lashkar, ISIS and Al Qaeda.
Bangladesh is hosting Jammu and Kashmir terror groups because of pressure from anti-India groups like Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), also known as Ansar-al Islam Bangladesh and Jamaat-e-Islami, sources have told CNN-News18. Sources said that the arrest of Javed Munshi, a suspected terrorist linked to Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen (TuM), near the Indo-Bangla border, is a major cause of concern. Munshi is trained in weapons, logistics and radicalisation.
Sources say Bangladesh is becoming a hub for all terror groups including Lashkar, ISIS and Al Qaeda. ISIS and Al Qaeda are also active in Bangladesh and Indian agencies have made multiple arrests in Jammu and Kashmir from these groups, sources said.
Sources said that entry and exit are easy for all these terror accused and state machinery has been helping them.
Sources added that the Javed Munshi arrest from West Bengal is crucial for agencies. “Munshi is a Pakistan-trained terrorist. He visited Pakistan during the 1990s and trained in IED attacks. He told security agencies about his plans to visit Bangladesh to see revival in activities with the help of other outfits,” sources said.
According to top Intelligence sources, TuM is a dangerous organisation which carried out a number of terrorist attacks and grenade attacks, and weapons snatching incidents. They out rightly support terrorist outfits including Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen (HM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) among others.
TuM has also helped LeT and HM in terms of financial and logistic support in the recent past, sources added.
According to sources, TuM has been engaged in radicalisation and recruitment of youth for terrorist activities in India and is running terrorist training centres for Kashmiri youth in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to sources, Munshi possibly wanted to revive the movement of terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir by providing all support to HM and LeT.
“These days, the Bangladesh government is actively allowing these groups to enter their territory due to ABT and Jamaat pressure,” sources said.
