Elon Musk’s wife has opened up on the financial and emotional toll she took during custody battle with the billionaire in court.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s ex-wife and musician Grimes (Claire Boucher) has opened up on the financial and emotional toll of her legal battle with billionaire Musk for three children – X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl.
Taking to social media, she outlined the challenges she faced in fighting for her children in the face of potential bankruptcy.
Musk and Grimes fought in a legal dispute last year after Musk filed a custody suit for the children.
Though details of the case remain under wraps due to a confidentiality agreement between the two, however, Grimes has touched upon the toll it has had on her life.
Elon Musk’s Ex-Wife Opens Up On Struggles
Grimes, who is an artist herself, said that she spent the year “sleeping and crying” when she was not actively taking part in the legal proceedings. She lamented that that very period impaired her creative ability.
Replying to an X user on why she is not composing music anymore, she said that her creative ability was hindered by the stress and uncertainty of the legal proceedings.
“Because the threat of losing ur kids while going bankrupt fighting for them is not very conducive to creative thoughts. I just slept and cried every minute I wasn’t explicitly fighting for my kids during that year,” she wrote on X, the platform owned by Musk.
Highlighting the resource inequity between herself and Musk, she said that she felt outmatched in the legal system despite her own wealth and success, particularly due to the variation in child support regulations between California and Texas.
Elon Musk ‘Unrecognisable’: Grimes
She wrote in a long post that her Instagram posts and modelling pictures were used against her in the courtroom to put her parenting ability in the dock. She called this “unfair and humiliating”.
Grimes said this in response to a fan who suggested her to release her Book 1 project.
In another post, she expressed how her perception of Musk has changed over a period of time and described him as “unrecognisable” from the man she once loved.
