Karanvir Bohra said Andhakasur is not just a typical villain, describing him as a character with a strong personality driven by “rage, conviction, and an unshakable purpose.” .
Karanvir Bohra, known for his roles in popular TV shows like Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Dil Se Di Dua… Saubhagyavati Bhava?, Shararat, Naagin 2, and Qubool Hai, among others, was last seen in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. Now, Bohra is venturing into a new genre with a mythological role, something he has never done before. He has been cast as Andhakasur in Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyag Taandav, a show based on Lord Shiva.
Andhakasur was a powerful demon who challenged Lord Shiva. In a recent interview, Bohra expressed his excitement about taking on this challenging role.
“It is an exciting new step in my acting journey for two reasons- portraying the son of Lord Shiva and playing a blind antagonist, both of which come with immense responsibility and excitement. Working with Colors feels like being on home turf, and this collaboration will surely continue to be a rewarding experience. I’m eager for the audience to see how Andhakasur’s journey unfolds on screen,” he said in an interview to Indian Forums.
He further mentioned that Andhakasur is not just a typical villain, describing him as a character with a strong personality driven by “rage, conviction, and an unshakable purpose.” Bohra explained that portraying this role required him to tap into intense emotions and showcase the complex layers of his character.
“My fans have always appreciated roles where I push boundaries, and Andhakasur allows me to explore deeper shades of the dark. We’ve created a striking look for the character, and I’m looking forward to bringing him to life,” he added.
The promo for Andhakasur shared on Instagram reveals his unique curse. Every drop of his blood spawns more Andhakasurs, making him an unstoppable force. His ultimate goal is to confront Lord Shiva, whom he believes has wronged the Asuras.

As Bohra prepares to embrace another negative role, he previously shared with The Times of India his affinity for such characters. He explained that he enjoys portraying negative roles, especially those that are typically one-dimensional — either entirely good or bad — because they allow actors to explore deeper layers of complexity. “I would even love to take on such roles in web series and films,” Bohra added.
Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyag Taandav, produced by Siddharth Kumar Tewary, also stars Ram Yashvardhan as Lord Shiva and Subha Rajput as Goddess Parvati.
