The Kazakhstan pair of Alexandra Le and Islam Satpayev got the better of the German duo of Anna Janssen and Maximilian Ulbrich in the bronze medal match of the Paris Olympics 2024 10m air rifle mixed team event.
The Kazakhstan shooting team of Alexandra Le and Islam Satpayev got the better of the German team of Anna Janssen and Maximilian Ulbrich by a margin of 17-5 in the 10 m air rifle mixed team event to win the first medal of the Paris Olympics 2024. The duo won the bronze medal.
Earlier in the qualification round as well, the Kazakhstan team finished third with 630.8 points and Germany fourth with 629.7 points.
It was a forgetful day for India, however, as the pair of Ramita and Arjun Babuta finished sixth with a total score of 628.7, whereas Elavenil Valarivan and Sandeep Singh ended in 12th place with an aggregate score of 626.3.
The duo of Ramita and Arjun came close and were placed fifth with three shots remaining, but fell 1.0 points short of the medal round cut-off.
Babuta enjoyed a fine start in the second relay and had a sequence that read 10.5, 10.6, 10.5, 10.9, while Ramita managed 10.2, 10.7, 10.3, 10.1 in the second series, their effort taking the team into the top 8.
