Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas lit up Times Square by performing their 2008 hit Play My Music from the classic Disney Channel movie, Camp Rock.
The Jonas Brothers took fans on a trip down memory lane with their performance on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas lit up Times Square with a rendition of their 2008 hit Play My Music from the Disney Channel movie Camp Rock, sending waves of nostalgia through the crowd. Alongside this fan favourite, the brothers also performed more recent tracks like Leave Before You Love Me with Marshmello, Sucker and a heartfelt cover of The Cranberries’ Dreams.
The star-studded New Year’s Eve celebration didn’t stop there. In addition to the Jonas Brothers, iconic performances by Rita Ora, Alanis Morissette, Blake Shelton, Kesha and Luis Fonsi lit up Times Square, making for an unforgettable night.
The Jonas Brothers came together in 2005, with their first song, Please Be Mine. In the same year, Kevin, Joe and Nick released their debut single, Mandy. Their first full-length album, It’s About Time, was released in 2006. The brothers became even more popular with their show Living the Dream, but it was Camp Rock that helped them become a household name.
Before their energetic performance at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, the Jonas Brothers left fans excited by hinting at some exciting upcoming projects. Nick Jonas started saying, “We’ve got a ton of announcements coming. The first thing up is, we’ve got a new song with Marshmello, on January 17th. I’ll be making a return to Broadway next year, in the show called The Last Five Years, which I absolutely can’t wait to do. There’s a ton of coming, so stay tuned.”
Kevin Jonas added that they are planning a major tour in 2025. Meanwhile, Joe Jonas teased that their New Year’s Eve performance will provide fans with a preview of many songs they’ll be performing on the upcoming tour.
Although Camp Rock was released over a decade ago, Nick Jonas shared in an earlier interview with People that he finds it “amusing” to see clips from the movie gaining popularity on social media.
He said, “I understand the impact the film had and has had. And I am super amused, I would say, by the clips from it that have since gone viral now on TikTok and other places. I’m going to say ‘amusing’ because I also think it’s hilarious. I remember thinking of that one in particular, the sort of stomp moment. I remember thinking while we were shooting, ‘This is really strange’.”
Interestingly, 2025 will be a special year for the Jonas Brothers, as it’s going to be their 20th anniversary since they first came together as a band.
