Manchester United have a big opportunity to sign a ‘world-class’ French footballer in the ongoing summer transfer window. Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot is reportedly on the cards for the Red Devils. GIVEMESPORT claims to have been told by transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano that Rabiot is unlikely to sign a new contract with the Bianconeri.
This is what he said when asked if Rabiot could potentially end up at Manchester United, “Let’s see if some other clubs will try to enter the race. Because as of now, Rabiot is still not extending his contract at Juventus, so it could be a big opportunity.”
Speaking further to GIVEMESPORT, Romano confirmed that no deal surrounding Rabiot was near completion. He felt that Rabiot’s unwillingness to re-sign a contract with Juventus could open doors for another club to acquire his services. “At the moment, I’m not aware of anything advanced or in concrete stages yet, but in general, I think for many clubs, it could be a big possibility, because, as I mentioned at the moment, it looks unlikely for him to stay at Juventus and sign the deal,” Romano added.
Rabiot’s current deal with the Serie A giants expired recently leading to Manchester United being touted as a potential destination for the French international. The Premier League club’s management is also reportedly pushing hard to sign the midfielder on a free transfer. Both INEOS and Erik ten Hag will be keeping an eye on the player as they attempt to bolster the squad. Given Casemiro’s likeliness to exit the club, Rabiot could be a cost-effective signing for the Dutch coach.
Amid Manchester United’s interest in signing Adrien Rabiot this summer, it has been learnt that the Frenchman is also on the radars of Liverpool. A few weeks back it was reported by Sky Sports that the new Liverpool coach Arne Slot is keen on stamping his authority in England. This led to the club making contact with Manchester United’s target for a potential transfer.
Rabiot moved to Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 2019. The French star enjoyed a successful spell in Turin, making 212 appearances for Juventus. He won the Serie A in the 2019-20 season alongside the Supercoppa Italiana in 2020 and two Coppa Italia titles in 2021 and 2024. He was impactful for Juventus last season as well making 35 appearances while scoring five times.
