All eyes were on the IPL 2025 auction that was held at the Abadi Al Johar Arena in Jeddah on Sunday. The event was graced by celebrities like Neeta Ambani and Preity Zinta who arrived at the event for their respective IPL teams. While several moments from the auction went viral, the internet could not stop talking about Jahnavi Mehta who bid for KKR. For the unversed, Jahnavi is the daughter of Juhi Chawla.

Who Is Jahnavi Mehta?
At the IPL 2025 auction, Jahnavi was accompanied by senior members from KKR. She exuded sophistication as she donned a white t-shirt which she had paired with a dark blue velvet jacket. Her appearance at the auction became a widely talked about moment.
Born on February 21, 2001, she finished her schooling at Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai and from Charterhouse School in England. She graduated from Columbia University in New York last year. Juhi took to her social media to share pictures from her convocation ceremony. She shared a picture of Jahnavi in her graduating robe and wrote, “#columbiaclass2023″
She attended the IPL auction when she was 17. This appearance made her the youngest participant at an IPL auction. She was also seen at the auction in 2022 when she sat alongside Shah Rukh Khan’s children – Aryan Khan and Suhana Khan.
Janhvi Mehta And Her Love For Cricket
In an earlier interview, Juhi Chawla talked about Jahnavi’s fascination with cricket. She mentioned how her daughter would listen to commentators to understand the game whenever she watched a cricket match. Recalling a memory from a holiday, Juhi said, “When she was about 12 years old, we were in Bali on a family holiday. At the hotel was a coffee table book, the size of (what used to be) a thick telephone directory, remember those..?? It had the life stories, achievements, records, a sort of almanac, of all the cricketers of the world. In the few days that we spent at the hotel, in between her jumping into the pool and behaving like a mad hatter, she sat at the poolside gazebo and read that book cover to cover! It was so unusual and so intense. Which 12-year-old girl does that I wondered…? As the years have passed her interest in the game has only increased.”
About Juhi Chawla And Jay Mehta
Juhi married industrialist Jay Mehta in 1995. The couple have two children together. In 2008, they acquired the ownership rights for Kolkata Knight Riders along with Shah Rukh Khan. They acquired the rights for US $75.09 million which roughly equated to Rs 2.98 billion at that time.
