While the day must have started on a disappointing note, it certainly had a sweet ending with Aman Sehrawat giving the Indian wrestlers a bronze medal.

Sehrawat was able to get past Puerto Rico’s Darien Toi Cruz in the Men’s 57kg freestyle wrestling event that took place at the Champ-de-Mars Arena on Friday.

Our Indian golfers, Diksha Dagar and Aditi Ashok were unable to get their best performance today as the two fell in the overall standings after a disappointing third-round performance.

In Athletics, the men’s relay team managed to put up a season’s best time but missed out on qualifying for the final event as they finished fourth in the respective heat. However, despite the 4th-place finish, they did not have a fast enough time to qualify as the top 3 sides in each heat and the next two best timings would have made it for the final.

The Women’s Relay team had no chance of qualification as they finished dead last in their respective heat during the qualifying event that took place at the Stade de France.

• Golf: Women’s Individual Stroke Play Round 3 – Aditi Ashok sits at joint-40th while Diksha Dagar is at joint-42nd with an overall tally of 222 and 223 respectively.
• Athletics: Women’s 4×100 Relay Round 1 – India finish in eighth position with a time of 3:32:51 and fail to qualify.
• Athletics: Men’s 4×100 Relay Round 1 – India finish fourth in the qualifying heat with a season’s best time of 3:00:58.
• Wrestling: Men’s 57kg Freestyle Bronze Medal Match – Aman Sehrawat beats Darien Toi Cruz 13-5 to win by points and win the bronze medal.
