According to a report in NBC News, the accused was identified as Brianna Alvelo, who was charged with attempted murder, home invasion with a firearm, kidnapping and aggravated assault. A man alleged to have accompanied Alvelo during the incident has not yet been identified.
The report quoted the affidavit which is based on the woman’s interview with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. NBC News stated that the victim, her boyfriend and her 5-year-old daughter were staying at a motel in Kissimmee to celebrate a birthday and ordered a Marco’s pizza last weekend.
Alvelo delivered the pizza, which cost about $33 (around Rs 2,800), and was asked to give change for a $50 (around Rs 4,300) bill, the affidavit was quoted.
The delivery driver, however, did not have change. The woman then searched for smaller denominations and finally gave tipped Alvelo only a $2 tip in the end.
The victim was quoted as saying that sometime later, she heard a loud knocking on the door. A man and a woman clad in all black wearing masks forced themselves into the room when she opened the door, the affidavit stated.
The man brandished a silver revolver and demanded that the woman’s boyfriend go into the bathroom. And the other person, believed to be Alvelo, pulled out a pocketknife, the report further quoted the victim’s affidavit.
According to the publication, the delivery boy rummaged through the woman’s purse and broke her daughter’s Nintendo Switch. The woman said she turned to shield her child and felt a strike to her lower back.
The affidavit stated that the victim was stabbed 14 times, with wounds to her chest, arms, legs and abdomen. She discovered she was pregnant while she was being treated at a local hospital.
According to the report, Alvelo was being held at the Osceola County Jail on a $55,000 (around Rs 47,05,000) bail, and no attorney was listed for the woman.
