Liverpool continued their winning start to the Premier League 2024-25 campaign with a resounding 2-0 win over visiting Brentford at Anfield on Sunday.
Arne Slot earned his first PL home win at the helm of the Merseyside club with strikes from Luis Diaz and Mohammed Salah, in either half of the game.
Diaz put Liverpool ahead in the 17th minute of the game as he belted the ball into the roofing of the net after being played through by Diogo Jota as Liverpool broke efficiently on the counter.
Salah got the insurance goal to give the hosts all three points in the game with an exquisite finish into the far corner past an advancing goalkeeper in fine fashion.

Noni Madueke was the star of the show with a hattrick that took the game away from the hosts at Molineux, while Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer and the returning Joao Felix all found the back of the net in the thumping win.
Bournemouth and Newcastle were inseparable at 1-1 in the other game of the day as the Cherries’ opener, thanks to Marcus Tavernier, was cancelled out by an Anthony Gordon strike as Eddie Howe picked up one point on the road at the conclusion of his game at the Vitality Stadium.
