Russia destroyed 125 Ukrainian drones overnight, targeting seven regions and the Sea of Azov, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. Air defence systems intercepted a significant number, including 67 drones over Volgograd and others over Belgorod, Rostov, and Voronezh. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Air Force reported downing 15 out of 22 Shahed drones launched by Russia, with attacks focused on Sumy, Mykolaiv, Vinnytsia, and Odesa. In a stern warning, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov cautioned the US and Europe against what he termed a “suicide venture” in their continued support of Ukraine. China echoed calls for de-escalation, with Foreign Minister Wang Yi stressing restraint in Ukraine to prevent further conflict. North Korea joined the fray, criticising US military aid to Ukraine as a “foolish act” that could risk nuclear escalation with Russia.
