Manchester United recently underwent some changes in its managerial setup. Erik ten Hag was sacked which led to Ruud van Nistelrooy stepping up as interim head coach.
Days after Ten Hag’s departure, the club announced that they were bringing in Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim as Manchester United head coach.
With the arrival of a new head coach, there is a lot of uncertainty around Ruud van Nistelrooy’s future at the club. Many speculate that he could be on his way out.
As for the current club situation, Erik ten Hag’s departure has seemingly breathed new life into Manchester United. The club showcased some solid performances in their recent games under Ruud van Nistelrooy.
United defeated Leicester 5-2 in the FA Cup Round of 16. The Red Devils were held to a 1-1 draw in their game in the Premier League against Chelsea but they quickly bounced back with a 2-0 win against PAOK. Amad Diallo stole the show as he scored a brace at Old Trafford.
Ruud van Nistelrooy was also quite impressed with Amad Diallo’s performance in the Europa League game, as the Dutch legend heaped praise on the youngster.
“The second goal had everything in it that is Diallo,” he said. “He fought to win the ball off the defender, then pushed through to take the shot and had the quality to bend it around the goalkeeper,” Nistelrooy said.
Manchester United will now be looking to extend their undefeated run in the post-Erik ten Hag era against Leicester City this weekend. The match will take place at Old Trafford on November10.
