Samsung could be planning for four Galaxy S-series phones in 2025 which could have a Slim surprise later in the year.
Leaks of the Samsung Galaxy S25 series are unavoidably increasing as the anticipated January 2025 release date draws closer. There is now additional proof to back up one of the most recent rumours regarding the next flagship Android phones: that a new “Slim” model might be added to the lineup.
A device that might be the Galaxy S25 Slim has surfaced in the GSMA IMEI database, claims Smartprix. With model numbers SM-S931, SM-S936, and SM-S938, the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra were already included in the database. We anticipate that this rumoured Slim variant is the device with the model number SM-S937 that is currently in the database.
Slim Pickings
According to the outlet, there is a six- to seven-month gap between adding a smartphone to this database and its eventual distribution. That would be consistent with a prior report and indicate a launch in Q2 2025 (April to June 2025). The Q2 2025 release for the device also implies that it will come out after the early launch of the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra models.
It is believed that Samsung could use the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition as a model for the Galaxy S25 Slim, by eliminating some features and improving others to give the slim touch. Although the possibility of a fourth Galaxy S model is not adding up for the time being, it would only become clear once the company talks about it. That’s not all, we have been hearing rumours about the iPhone 17 Slim in the pipeline for Apple next year, which could be a clear prompt for its rivals to also follow suit.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Series: Expected Features
The Galaxy S25 series is reportedly going to stick with the same rear camera design as the models from this year. The Ultra model’s wider cutout in the covers suggests a quad-camera system, while the basic Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus are anticipated to have a triple-camera array.
The positioning of the speakers, USB-C port, and power and volume controls are not anticipated to change significantly. Furthermore, contrary to prior rumours that Samsung would include an extra button, the cover design shows that the S25 series will not have a dedicated camera button like the one on the iPhone 16 series.
The Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus are expected to feature rounded edges, according to the reports, but the Galaxy S25 Ultra would have a boxier appearance with sharper edges. Slimmer bezels around the display are also anticipated for all models.
