Amid mounting pressure on the nation’s football federation in the lead-up to the kiss, which proved as a tipping point for Rubiales to step down from the helm. Hermoso reiterated that such an incident should have no place in a work environment.
“This shouldn’t happen in any social or work setting,” Hermoso said.

The all-time top scorer for the national women’s team added that the incident had also created a media circus around her and it felt as though the federation had abandoned her following the fiasco.
“No one from the federation came to ask me how I was. I felt completely abandoned by the federation,” she recollected.
“People waiting for me outside, people following me, people taking photos of me while I had breakfast with my mother. Until today it feels like my life has been on stand by”, she added.
