Siddhant Chaturvedi made his debut in Bollywood when he starred in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy alongside Ranveer Singh. However, the actor would have debuted even before that if his first film was not scrapped. In a recent interview, the actor revealed that he shaved his hair off when his debut film was discarded as he was too heartbroken by the news.
In a conversation with Mashable India, Siddhant Chaturvedi revealed that he had auditioned for his debut film when he was 21 years old. He mentioned that he had also started attending the workshops so that he could get into the skin of the character. But after six months, the film got scrapped and it left him shattered. He revealed that he shaved off his hair as he could only see the character whenever he looked in the mirror.
He said, “I was 21-22 at that time, I had auditioned for a film and got selected for that role. The workshop went on for six months, so I started doing my hair and wearing clothes according to my character. But the film later got scrapped. Whenever I would look in the mirror, I would just see that character. So I shaved my hair! It was a big jolt for me.”
The actor did not name the production house or the director. He continued, “I can’t disclose which production house, but the film was never made. When I had bagged it at a young age, I thought oh well, this was easy, but later it jolted me. I was really low and for the next three months after that, till my hair didn’t grow, I was in a Zen mode after that.”
Chaturvedi revealed that his mother urged him to sit for his CA final exams but his father told him to stick to his aim. On the work front, he was last seen in Yudhra where he shared the screen with Malvika Mohanan. He is currently gearing up for Dhadak 2 where he will share the screen with Triptii Dimri.
