German police shot and wounded a knife-wielding man who attacked a right-wing demonstration in Mannheim on May 31. Social media footage showed a bearded man attacking people in the city’s central Marktplatz square with a knife. One person was stabbed in the leg and a policeman who tried to intervene appeared to have suffered a cut in the neck. Eventually, another policemen shot the assailant, stating there was no longer any danger to the public.
