On October 26, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the Israeli Air Force’s strike on Iranian missile targets, claiming it severely harmed Iran’s defence capacity and achieved its objectives. This statement was made during a state ceremony honouring soldiers who died in conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon. Netanyahu expressed gratitude to the US for its cooperation in the mission, while the Biden administration clarified it was informed beforehand but did not participate. In response, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, condemned the attack, labelling it a “miscalculation” and emphasising Iran’s strength and resolve. Meanwhile, Hezbollah launched attacks on northern Israel, targeting areas like Tamra and issuing evacuation warnings for several Israeli towns near the Lebanon border, calling them potential military targets. In southern Lebanon, the IDF uncovered a major underground Hezbollah base allegedly built to stage attacks on Israel.
