WWE Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque has broken his silence on Kevin Owen’s attack on Cody Rhodes. WWE’s latest premium live event Bad Blood 2024 concluded with an unexpected moment last week. After the show went off the air, Owens laid down a vicious attack on the Undisputed Champion outside the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on October 5. The beatdown was not a part of WWE’s broadcast. Addressing the attack, Triple H announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the matter would be “dealt with internally.” He wrote, “We are aware of the incident outside of the arena last night between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. The matter will be dealt with internally.”

While the beatdown was not televised in any country, it was recorded, presumably, by a fan and then shared on social media. In the video, both Owens and Rhodes can be seen initially having a few words. Rhodes’ championship belt could be seen on the floor before as the duo talked. Soon, Owens gave the Universal Champion a shove, pushing him backwards.
Rhodes could be seen attempting to calm the heated situation while trying to lift his belt from the floor. But things escalated quickly as Owens landed a cheap shot on Rhodes’ head. He kept assaulting the American Nightmare with kicks on the chest and back before security arrived at the scene.
Owens and Rhodes have been constantly involved in fending off The Bloodline alongside multi-time world champion Randy Orton. Owens and Rhodes even faced each other in an Undisputed Championship match earlier this year when WWE action had moved to Germany at Bash in Berlin.
Owens stole the show in Germany, even kicking out of a Cody Cutter in the match. Eventually, Rhodes was able to put Owens away with a second Cross Rhodes. Despite the loss, Owens ensured he celebrated the moment with the champion as he acknowledged him by raising the American Nightmare’s hand.
It now seems that Kevin Owens has slowly transitioned into a heel in the current WWE storyline. With no announcement of a potential suspension around Owens’ actions, it is likely fans will witness the duo take each other on for a second time. It remains to be seen what Rhodes will have to say about Owen’s actions in the near future.
