A Secret Service agent, tasked with protecting former President Barack Obama, was fired after he allegedly brought a lover to the Obamas’ beachfront property in Hawaii in 2022 when the former President and his family were away.
According to ABC News, the law enforcement officer’s former girlfriend Koryeah Dwanyen in her book, titled “Undercover Heartbreak: A Memoir of Trust and Trauma”, details the security breaches that took place when the Secret Service agent invited her to Obama’s property in Hawaii while they were out of town.
According to the book, the officer had in fact sent her “several photos” of the house a week earlier she was called at the place.
In her memoir, released on October 28, Dwanyen refers to the agent as “Dale” and claimed that he suggested having sex in the former First Lady Michelle’s bathroom.
“No one will know,” the agent, referred to as Dale, allegedly told her. “If anything, I’m the one who could get in trouble.” Dwanyen further recalled her former boyfriend saying, “We should have sex in Michelle’s bathroom, like a mile-high club.”
Following the release of the book, the Secret Service launched an investigation against the senior officer for the alleged violations of fundamental regulations required for the protection and security of the President of the United States.
US Secret Service Chief of Communications Anthony Guglielmi confirmed to ABC News that such an incident did occur, resulting in the agent’s termination.
“On November 6, 2022, a Secret Service agent involved in protective functions brought an individual who did not have authorised access into a protectee’s residence without permission,” Guglielmi was quoted as saying.
As soon as the Secret Service became aware of the incident, the agent involved was immediately terminated after a full investigation, the Secret Service Chief of Communications informed.
