South Korean actor Song Joong Ki made his comeback to films with his latest release, Bogota: City of the Lost.

Popular South Korean actor Song Joong Ki, best known for his works in K-dramas like Vincenzo and the Descendants of the Sun, recently made his much-awaited comeback to the big screen with Bogota: City of the Lost. Delayed for about five years due to multiple reasons including the COVID-19 pandemic, the film was released on New Year’s Eve, leaving fans excited for the star’s return. Busy with the promotions of his film, Song Joong Ki’s latest Instagram post has also created a fresh buzz, marking his first post after being absent from social media for over two months.
On Friday, January 10, the actor shared a bunch of pictures showing him enjoying the scenic beauty of the Colombian capital. In what appears to have been captured during the shooting of the film, the post features the South Korean star with his group.
“Bogota,” he simply captioned the post. The first one captures a solo snap of the actor showing him in a black Hoodie paired with olive-coloured trousers and a red cab, enjoying the view from the rooftop. It is followed by a couple of group pictures.
The post instantly sparked a wave of excitement among the fans, with many expressing their happiness on seeing Song Joong Ki back on Instagram. They even demanded his comeback to K-dramas.
Song Joong Ki’s Latest Film
Bogota: City of the Lost, which has already been released in theatres seems to have received mixed reactions from audiences. The database on the Korean Film Council Bogota shows the film collecting a cumulative audience viewership of only 336,348, falling behind the likes of latest releases like Harbin and Firefighters.
Directed by Kim Sung Jae, Bogota: City of the Lost features Song Joong Ki opposite Lee Hee Joon and Kwon Hae Hyo. Set in the aftermath of the IMF crisis, it tells the story of a young man who is seeking a new beginning in Bogota, Colombia only to find himself tangled in the Korean community. The story tells the emotional and tense narrative of his survival and ambitions on a foreign land. Actors Park Ji Hwan, Jo Hyun Cheol and Kim Jong Su also play notable roles in the movie.
Song Joong Ki, who has been away from television for a long time now, was seen playing the lead in 2021’s superhit K-drama Vincenzo. Despite his most recent appearance in a cameo in Queen of Tears, fans have been looking forward to his next show.
