John Cena kickstarted his farewell tour with an appearance on the latest WWE Raw debut episode on Netflix.
John Cena started his farewell tour with an appearance on the latest WWE Raw debut episode on Netflix. Cena had announced his retirement last year and said that he aims to take part in the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 41. It is expected that Cena will feature in 30-40 matches this year before bringing an end to his illustrious career. Ahead of his Royal Rumble appearance on February 1, the 16-time World Champion was asked if the audience may get a chance to witness any of his former characters throughout his career. Responding to this, Cena made a revelation.
“The great thing about the farewell tour tonight, we debuted a new outfit and it was very regionally focused … The Prototype wore different colors, the colors of the home team so to speak. I’m really looking forward to trying to go back to the way I started and thug life, the Doctor Of Thuganomics John Cena would wear home or sometimes away jerseys,” John Cena said during the “Raw” on Netflix Premiere Post-Show, as per Wrestling Inc.
“So there’s elements of everything already in front of you. I think hopefully by the end of all this, if you want to see a certain facet of the 23 years I’ve been in the business, hopefully you get that little sprinkle. I’m definitely focused on that and hopefully we can deliver,” John Cena added.
During his glorious career, John Cena has won the United States Championship and Tag Team Championship multiple times, along with 16 WWE World Championships. While Cena has won innumerable titles so far there has been one silverware that has eluded him and it is the Intercontinental Championship.
It is not still not known if John Cena will be able to win the Intercontinental Championship but rumours are rife about him breaking the record for the most World titles in the history of WWE. It is being speculated that Cena will be up against Cody Rhodes at the upcoming edition of WrestleMania.
Coming back to the WWE Raw debut episode on Netflix, fans got a chance to experience some big stars like The Rock, Roman Reigns, The Undertaker and CM Punk. In the women’s segment, Rhea Ripley got the better of Liv Morgan to be crowned the new WWE Women’s World Champion.
