In response to a post by her designer friend, Uorfi Javed slammed PETA India for not helping an injured bird.
Social media star Uorfi Javed is grabbing attention once again, but this time it’s not for her bold outfits. The Follow Kar Lo Yaar actress has taken a stand against People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), calling them a “scam” after they failed to respond to a distress call. Uorfi’s fiery reaction came after her designer friend, Shweta Gurmeet Kaur, posted a video of an injured bird and tagged PETA India, seeking urgent help, but received no response.
With no possible communication, she shared another story and criticised the organisation. “I called PETA India. They clearly said that they can’t help because they are busy. I was talking to a lady. And when I asked, please help, then she said we can’t help and shared some other pet help numbers they might help you. I said share the number; I can write it down, and she just hung up on me.”
Disappointed by the situation, a frustrated Uorfi re-shared the note on her Instagram Stories and wrote, “PETA India is a scam! Unless you’re famous and they know they can get publicity out of you, they don’t care. Bunch of hypocrites.”
Quite active on social media, Uorfi is often seen voicing her strong opinions on various social issues. From hitting out on her trolls to advocating for the freedom of fashion choices and body positivity, she never misses a chance to grab attention. Meanwhile, Uorfi is known for her bold and out-of-the-box looks. Despite being a constant subject of online criticism, she continues to have an unapologetic approach to life.
On the work front, Uorfi Javed was recently seen as a mentor on Playground Season 4, a reality web show. She was previously seen in her own family drama show, Follow Kar Lo Yaar. Before reality TV, Uorfi was a part of shows like Bepannaah, Meri Durga, and Bade Bhaiyya Ki Dulhania.
However, it was her participation in Bigg Boss OTT that rose her to prominence.
