The Agrahari and Agrawal communities claim their progenitor to be Maharaja Agrasen, the monarch of Agroha. Maharaja Agrasen of the Suryavamsha Kshatriya Dynasty was the son of King Vallabh of Pratapnagar.

Maharaja Agrasen was widely known for his unwavering opposition to discrimination and dedication to equality. He introduced the novel concept of “one brick and one rupee,” in which each household in Agroha donated one brick and one rupee to each new family relocating to the area.

This humanitarian act enabled newcomers to build their houses and launch their enterprises.

The Agrahari and Agrawal communities celebrate Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti with great religious fervour. They pray to the goddess Lakshmi, asking for her blessings of peace, prosperity, and harmony.
