Apple Intelligence promises privacy and features but not for all

Apple Intelligence brings a mix of useful features and privacy for your data, you also get the new Siri and Apple’s OpenAI deal brings ChatGPT access.

Apple Intelligence (AI) is the trend word that Apple is planning to use for the technology. It has been confirmed that OpenAI will be offering the ChatGPT 4o version for free if you have the iPhone, Mac or iPad compatible with the features. But the biggest headline of the day has to be Apple’s personal and private touch to AI that seems to be missing from Google or even Microsoft’s AI playbook. Apple believes that its close integration of software and hardware is once again making it possible to bring AI without compromising on user and data privacy.

Apple’s AI Push But With Promise

Apple showcased the basic AI tools that we have already seen from Google and OpenAI. But the architecture will be the biggest advantage that Apple has over its rivals, as Tim Cook had mentioned in an investors call recently. The company showed its intentions to succeed but not at the cost of your data. It claims to have set up a brand-new standard for privacy in AI and most of what was demoed at the WWDC 2024 keynote highlighted its potential and promise.

New Siri, Thanks to ChatGPT

Apple Intelligence is a self-anointed term by the company but the biggest change that we saw was offered on the 13-year-old Siri. Apple claims the new voice assistant will offer a personalised experience, give you relevant responses and interact with other apps to simplify tasks on the device. Most of the Siri demo talked about working with the in-house apps but the fact that Apple is allowing Siri to work with third-party apps will make it a game changer.

Taste Of AI But Not For All

Apple got everyone excited about its AI and what it offers on the iPhones. However, the biggest detail was probably left in the footnote. To use Apple Intelligence, you will need the following iPhone, iPad, or Mac devices.

As you can see here, the latest iPhone 15 Pro models are needed, but thankfully, Apple is happy if you still own the M1 MacBook Air to let you experience its Apple Intelligence features that will be coming in beta later this year and only in English for now.
