The teenager will sign for London-based Premier League club for a fee of around £17 million, along with the add-ons.

Premier League club Chelsea are understood to be on the verge of completing the transfer for Argentine wonderkid Aaron Anselmino. As per an Athletic report, talks between Boca Juniors and the London giants are at an advanced stage regarding Anselmino’s signing.

The report went on to add that the teenager will sign for Chelsea for a fee of around £17 million, along with the add-ons. TyC Sports recently shared a major update on the 19-year-old’s transfer status, claiming that Chelsea have secured Anselmino’s signing. The English side will later loan him back to his former club.

The report further suggested that Anselmino will stay at Boca Juniors for one more year, but he can be re-signed after six months. Anselmino is expected to sign a six-year contract with the Blues, and Chelsea will reportedly pay a fee of around $18 million (£14 million).

Multiple reports suggest that later, Anselmino will secure a loan deal to move back to Boca Juniors or Chelsea’s sister club, Strasbourg. Boca Juniors president Juan Roman Riquelme had previously opened up about Anselmino’s future. “With the growth, the head he has, and the desire to learn that he shows, he is on his way to being a great footballer,” Riquelme told ESPN at the start of the year, as per GOAL.

Along with defence, Anselmino can also fit in the midfield, and he has made 10 senior appearances for Boca Juniors till now. He broke into the first team of the Argentine outfit last summer. As per Goal, he entered Boca Juniors’ academy ranks at the age of 12.

Anselmino made his debut under Argentine coach Jorge Almiron at the age of 18. The young defender was brought in as a half-time substitute during an Argentina Primera Division fixture against Lanus in June last year. His performance in that game helped him gain the media’s attention.

Chelsea had recently completed the signing of Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for an amount of £30 million. Dewsbury-Hall signed a five-year deal with an option of a further year with Chelsea.
