Slot praised the Spurs boss’ approach to the game and hoped for Postecoglou to pick up a piece of silverware in the near future.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot jumped to the defence of fellow Premier League side Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou following criticism of the Spurs’ head coach over his ultra-offensive style of play.
Tottenham managed to edge out Manchester United 4-3 in the EFL Quarterfinal clash to move into the semifinal of the event and are paired against Slot’s Liverpool, who picked up a 2-1 win over Southampton to seal their place in the final four of the English League Cup.
Tottenham nearly squandered a three-goal lead against Ruben Amorim’s United, but held on to seal the win and Postecoglou rendered a rhetoric along the lines of ‘Are you not entertained?’ after the triumph.

Slot expressed his admiration for the Spurs boss’ approach to the game and hoped for Postecoglou to pick up a piece of silverware in the near future.
“I hope, hope, hope that he wins a trophy,” Slot said.
“Not the League Cup but I’m completely a fan of his team for the Europa League because people always talk about trophies, trophies, trophies, and that is so important,” the Dutchman added.
“Now, for me, his brand of football, his style of football is so much more important and if he can combine it with something, that would be so good for football in general because then people can stop talking about it as too attacking or whatever,” he continued.
“How on earth can you play too much attacking football?” the 46-year-old stated.
