Red Bull’s Max Verstappen created history at the Las Vegas Grand Prix on Sunday. Verstappen has become just the sixth man in the history of Formula One to win four world championship titles. He joined former Red Bull racer Sebastian Vettel as the four-time champion of the team.

Verstappen finished ahead of Lando Norris to claim the title. He saw off Norris with a fifth-placed finish to secure the world title at the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

After winning his fourth consecutive title, Verstappen talked about the conditions under which he would think about leaving the game. “If you’re not having fun, then there’s no point in continuing,” the Dutchman said, as per Motorcycle Sports.

Verstappen’s contract at Red Bull runs to the end of 2028. Despite his long-term contract, there have been plenty of speculations about his departure from Red Bull. Ahead of this year’s Austrian GP, Verstappen was asked about his future at Red Bull and the Dutchman did share his stand on this matter.

“I think I’ve said this before. Naturally, of course, people are talking but it’s most important that we just have a very competitive car for the future. At the moment, of course, it is very tight but we are working very well as a team to try and improve more. For sure, I said this already with the team, we are working and focusing also on next year to try and be competitive again,” Verstappen had said back then.

Since winning his maiden championship in 2021, Max Verstappen has dominated the Formula One circuit. His contribution to Red Bull’s overall performance has been no less glorious. Verstappen is now 27 and over the past four seasons, he has bagged 41 Grand Prix wins and guided Red Bull to three back-to-back Constructors’ Championships.

Last year, Max Verstappen was in sublime form having won 19 races. This season, Verstappen ended a 10-race winless run by emerging victorious from 17th on the grid in Brazil three weeks back. That win ensured that Verstappen’s defense of his crown was still possible. He has so far won eight races this season and it marks his fewest triumphs since 2020.
