King Charles was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year and was undergoing treatment, the Buckingham Palace announced.

King Charles III visited Waltham Forest Town Hall- the monarch’s final public engagement of the year- along with his wife Queen Camilla. But a remark about his health left everyone smiling as while meeting members of the east London community, a self-employed Indian-origin Sikh faith representative Harvinder Rattan asked King Charles, “Your Majesty, good morning, how are you?”

Not one to miss a moment to joke just like his mother the late Queen Elizabeth, Charles quipped, “I’m still alive.”

King Charles’ cancer diagnosis

This comes as King Charles was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year and was undergoing treatment, the Buckingham Palace announced. The monarch resumed public duties in April and gradually increased his engagements in the year.

At the time, King Charles said, “As all those who have been affected by cancer will know, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement.” He also said that his motive for sharing his diagnosis was to help in raising awareness and supporting cancer patients as well as their families.

King Charles’ treatment ‘progressing’ well

Citing Palace sources The Telegraph reported that King Charles’ treatment has been progressing positively. The source said as per the outlet, “As a managed condition, the treatment cycle will continue into next year.”
