France coach Didier Deschamps is reportedly not happy with Kylian Mbappe’s approach with the national team. The Real Madrid forward is not part of the French squad that will feature in a couple of UEFA Nations League matches during the upcoming international break.

As per reports, the relationship between Mbappe and Deschamps has deteriorated recently which perhaps led to the World Cup winner being dropped from the national team for the second consecutive time.

Mbappe, who shifted his base to Madrid this summer, was also absent from the last two Nations League fixtures against Israel and Belgium. The former PSG man is said to have decided to not join the French national team due to his relationship with the coach being “fractious”.

Deschamps, however, has rubbished such speculations.

The 56-year-old says he had discussed the topic with Mbappe several times before taking the final call.

“I had several exchanges with him. I thought about it and made this decision about this gathering. I think it’s better like this. I’m not going to argue. What I can tell you, is two things: Kylian wanted to come, and it is not the extra-sporting problems that come into play from the moment the presumption of innocence exists. It’s a one-off choice for this gathering with the two matches awaiting us,” Deschamps explained.

Several French outlets, however, reported that Mbappe was not satisfied with the managerial situation in the French team.

The 25-year-old may not return to train with his national teammates at Clairefontaine until the issues get resolved.

Mbappe’s mother and his agent Fayza Lamari recently lashed out at the French media for allegedly tarnishing the reputation of his son.

Lamari feels Mbappe has been targeted by the press time and again which has led them to adopt the “us against the world” approach.

As far as his Real Madrid career is concerned, Mbappe has so far struck eight goals and provided two assists in his 15 appearances across all club competitions. He will be next seen in action in a LaLiga clash against Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabeu. The league fixture is scheduled for Saturday, November 9.
